Transitional Residence Permit Indonesia Bridges the Transition Process for Foreigners’ Residence Permits in RI JAKARTA –

The Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, has implemented this transitional Residence Permit Indonesia policy, also known as Bridging Visa. the residence permit becomes a ‘bridge’ between a previous residence permit and obtaining a new residence permit. “In this way, foreign nationals holding Visit Stay Permits submitted via evisa.imigration.go.id makes it possible to obtain a Limited Stay Permit without having to outside Indonesian territory.

The implementation of the Transitional Stay Permit is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Permenkumham) Number 11 of 2024 which was ratified on April 1 2024. Permit validity period The transition period is 60 days and only applies onshore, namely for foreign nationals already in Indonesian territory. This residence permit is no longer valid if the foreigner leaves Indonesian territory.

Foreigners who wish to use a Transitional Residence Permit must apply Apply via the evisa.imigration.go.id and pay the fee immigration no later than 3 (three) days before the validity period of the previous residence permit expires.  “The implementation of the Transitional Stay Permit is an effort by the Directorate General of Immigration creating legal certainty for foreign citizens residing in Indonesian territory as well as ease of service,” he concluded.
